Missing Karen Brown found safe and well in Glasgow
The Clydebank grandmother, who went missing on October 14, was traced in the city centre.
Missing Clydebank woman Karen Brown has been found safe and well in Glasgow, more than a fortnight after she disappeared.
Mrs Brown, 47, left her home in Kirkwood Avenue on Saturday October 14 and caught a Megabus to London.
Three days later she was captured on CCTV in Hamleys on Regent Street.
The footage emerged after a woman from Clydebank told detectives she had met her.
But despite a series of fresh appeals, there were no further confirmed sightings of the Asda checkout operator.
Her husband Jock, 48, travelled to London on Saturday and urged Mrs Brown to meet him in the toy store but she never turned up.
But Police Scotland have now confirmed the mother-of-two has been traced in Glasgow City Centre.
Inspector John McMillan, Dumbarton Police Station, said: "It is great news that Karen has come back to Glasgow and she is now heading home to her family.
"I would like to thank both the public and the media for their tremendous response to our appeal.
"The information and assistance provided by both has without doubt been the vital link in our inquiries and has led to Karen being found."
Mr Brown posted a message of thanks on social media.
He wrote: "On behalf of Karen Brown & I, I wish to thank the Police and everyone on Facebook that helped by sending best wishes to us during this tough time.
"Karen is now safe at home."
