Woman dies after being hit by bus while crossing road
The woman, who was in her 40s, was pronounced dead at the scene in Glasgow.
A woman has died after she was hit by bus as she crossed a road in Glasgow city centre.
Emergency services were called to the incident in George Street, near its junction with Montrose Street, around 6.20pm.
The woman, believed to be in her 40s, died at the scene.
Police Scotland said the 48-year-old man driving the First Bus was not injured.
A force spokesman said: "A woman was fatally injured after being struck by a double decker First Bus as she crossed George Street in Glasgow city centre.
"Emergency services attended but she died at the scene."
Part of George Street was closed while police carried out investigations.
