Two people have been arrested after three men were allegedly sprayed with a corrosive liquid.

The three men suffered burns on Oak Road in Cumbernauld, North Lanarkshire, on Saturday, October 14.

The men, who are aged 21, 23 and 25, had been in a flat on the street before the incident.

Police Scotland have now said two men, aged 21 and 24 have been arrested in connection with the incident.

A report will be sent to the procurator fiscal, the force said.
