Bomb squad sent to train station over 'explosive device'
Passengers evacuated from Kelvindale Station and services restricted amid police activity.
The bomb squad was called out to a railway station in Glasgow over reports of an explosive device being found on a nearby canal path.
Passengers were evacuated from Kelvindale Station and police attended at around 11.30am on Wednesday.
Trains from Glasgow Queen Street and Anniesland via Maryhill will not be stopping at Kelvindale due to police activity near the station.
A police spokeswoman said "At 11.25am on Wednesday, officers discovered an unexploded device on a canal path near Cleveden Road.
"As a precaution, Kelvindale Station has been closed but the railway line remains open.
"Officers have contacted EOD as a precaution and inquires continue to find out if the device is viable or not."
Police later confirmed the device was a fake grenade and the incident is now over.
Trains are now resuming service at Kelvindale.
