An unconscious diver has been pulled from the sea.

The man was discovered in the Sound of Mull near Oban at 11.20am on Monday.

He was flown by air ambulance to the Lorn and Islands Hospital in Oban.

His condition in hospital is not yet known.

A Police Scotland spokeswoman said: "About 11.20am on Monday, police were called to a report of an unconscious diver who had been rescued from the Sound of Mull near Oban.

"Emergency services attended and the man was taken by helimed to the Lorn and the Isles Hospital.

"Enquiries are continuing."
