Police are searching for a 44 year-old man who has been missing for over a week from Ardrossan.

James Larmour, known as Jim, left his home address in McDowall Avenue in the morning on Wednesday, October 11.

He was reported missing by his family on Monday, October 16 as they had not heard from him.

James is 5ft 10 inches tall with a slim build and blue eyes.

Last seen, he was wearing a black shirt, dark jeans and black shoes.

He is normally clean shaven and has close cropped brown hair.

Extensive enquiries have been carried out to try and locate his whereabouts, however all attempts to trace him have so far proved unsuccessful.

Inspector Brian Skimming said: "Jim has never gone missing before and our concern is growing.

"It is out of character for him not to keep in touch with his family and friends and they are extremely concerned for him and just want to know he is safe and well.

"I would appeal to anyone who has seen Jim or who has any knowledge as to his whereabouts to contact us."
