Murderer stabbed man to death after row about his mother
Robert Letham, 32, killed Steven Russell, 20, in Possilpark, Glasgow.
A murderer stabbed his victim to death in the street following a row about his mother.
Robert Letham, 32, killed 20-year-old Steven Russell in a "cold-blooded" murder in Possilpark, Glasgow in February.
Jurors viewed the brutal attack, which was captured on CCTV.
Letham, who claimed he had been "scared" of his victim, was later arrested after fleeing to Somerset in England.
He was convicted of the killing following a trial at the High Court in Glasgow.
It emerged he already had a violent past including crimes of assault with a blade.
Lady Rae told him: "The Crown described this as a premeditated, cold-blooded murder and I endorse those words.
"You have a terrible record and the jury saw your behaviour on CCTV, as did I."
The judge said she wanted to consider the minimum Letham must spend behind bars before passing sentence on Tuesday.
Letham replied: "It won't make a difference. Good luck getting me here."
Lady Rae then said: "Is that a threat? This is not helping you, Mr Letham."
The judge ordered Letham to be returned to the cells with the case adjourned the case.
Earlier the court heard how Letham and Mr Russell - known as Steph - had been "arguing over the phone" before the murder on February 10.
Letham's half-brother Alan Dearie, 18, said he was with him when the killer met Mr Russell later that day.
The teenager recalled Letham "pulled out a knife and stabbed" his victim.
The attack was captured on CCTV, with Letham sitting on a wall before swinging his arm at Mr Russell then knifing him with a ten-inch blade.
Mr Dearie - who gave evidence via video link - said he was left "panicking" at what happened.
The teenager later challenged his half brother about what happened and Letham just "shrugged".
Prosecutor Mr Ronnie asked Mr Dearie: "The argument that they had on the phone... do you recall if it had something to do with your mum?"
He replied: "Yes."
Jordan Smith, 20, also gave evidence and recalled "lots of blood" pouring from his friend Mr Russell.
Mr Smith said: "Steph ran for about ten seconds then put both his hands by his side and fell down.
Letham told the court Mr Russell had been "threatening" leaving him "scared".
He claimed, as a result, he "lashed out".
Letham was also found guilty of assault, having a knife and attempting to defeat the ends of justice.
Laura Graham, 28, had also been charged of attempting to defeat the ends of justice but prosecutors dropped the allegation against her.
