Man suffered collapsed lung in row over broken wardrobe
Stephen Henry was attacked by Katrina McCuish and Lindsay Anderson in Paisley.
A man was stabbed four times and suffered a collapsed lung in an attack by two women after an argument over a broken wardrobe.
Katrina McCuish, 29, and 26-year-old Lindsay Anderson attacked Stephen Henry in July last year.
McCuish punched and kicked Mr Henry before Anderson stabbed him.
The High Court in Glasgow was told Mr Henry suffered four stab wounds near his shoulders and was also treated for a collapsed lung.
Judge Lord Summers heard how police went on to find both women in tears after the assault in McCuish's flat in Paisley, Renfrewshire.
The women knew each other as they worked at the same unnamed KFC branch.
Mr Henry was left scarred for life following his ordeal and needed three months off work.
The incident emerged as McCuish and Anderson faced an attempted murder allegation at the High Court in Glasgow.
First offender Anderson instead pleaded guilty to assaulting Mr Henry to his severe injury, permanent disfigurement and to the danger of his life.
McCuish admitted assaulting the man, who she once dated, by punching and kicking him.
They will be sentenced next month.
Mr Henry and McCuish had once been "casually romantically linked" but Anderson "did not get on" with him.
An argument broke out that night between Mr Henry and Anderson.
Prosecutor Duncan McPhie said: "McCuish thought Mr Henry had broken an item of furniture - a glass panel in a wardrobe - during the altercation.
"She began punching and kicking him while shouting at him to leave her flat."
Mr Henry was then aware of Anderson beside him but his next memory was being on the floor breathless.
He heard McCuish weeping, asking Anderson: "What have you done?"
Mr Henry "begged" McCuish for help as she stemmed blood with his hooded top.
Police were called and discovered both attackers tending to the victim.
Mr McPhie: "McCuish was noted to be distressed and attempting to cuddle Mr Henry on the floor.
"There was heavy blood staining on her top. Anderson was distressed and unable to communicate clearly with officers."
Anderson's QC Thomas Ross said she was aware she was facing "likely imprisonment" for the crime.
