Man arrested for 'driving while disqualified' in Irvine
The man driving the vehicle is alleged to have provided false details to officers.
A 40-year-old man has been arrested for allegedly driving while disqualified.
Officers pulled over the vehicle on Seaton Terrace, Irvine, on Friday.
The man is accused of taking the car without the owner's consent before providing false details to police while being disqualified from driving.
A spokesperson for Ayrshire Police Division said "The arrest of this man was the result of proactive enquiries conducted by officers on routine patrol.
"We are committed to keeping people safe and to working with our partners to improve road safety.
"Communities have a key role to play in denying criminals the use of the road and I would encourage anyone with any information to contact us or to contact CrimeStoppers anonymously."
