Woman injured during bag robbery in Ayr town centre
officers say it is vital to catch the person responsible before he strikes again.
A woman has been injured during a robbery in Ayr town centre.
The 43-year-old victim was walking on George Street towards Content Street at 9.30pm on Wednesday she was targeted.
A man violently grabbed her bag, causing her to fall to the ground and injure her foot.
The suspect is white and in late 20s to early 30s, 5ft 6in, of slim build with a fit physique and brown hair.
He was wearing dark blue jeans and a dark coloured tracksuit/shell suit jacket.
Detective sergeant Jane Hogg at Ayr CID said: "This was a very traumatic experience for this woman who had to be treated in hospital for a foot injury after she was knocked to the ground.
"It is vital that we catch the person responsible before he strikes again and as such I appeal to anyone who either witnessed the incident or who was in the vicinity of George Street, Ayr, around 21.30pm on Wednesday, September 27, and may have seen him hanging around the area either prior to the robbery taken place or running off afterwards to contact police immediately."
