A man and woman and have been injured after a crash in East Ayrshire.

Both were taken to Crosshouse University Hospital where the 19-year-old man is still currently being treated for his injuries.

Staff have described his condition as stable.

The 46-year-old woman was released after being treated for minor injuries.

The crash took place at around 5.05pm in Main Road, Crookedholm on Friday.

The man was driving a red Ford Fiesta car north approximately 100 meters south of the A71 Hurlford when it collided with a white Citreon car being driven by the 46-year-old that was travelling in the opposite direction.

Sergeant Cat Gibbons at the Road Policing Unit in Irvine is appealing for any witnesses to the crash.
