A man has been seriously injured in a brawl outside a McDonald's in Glasgow.

The assault happened outside a branch on the city's Trongate shortly before 11pm on Thursday.

The 31-year-old suffered a serious head injury and was taken to Glasgow Royal Infirmary.

A Police Scotland spokeswoman said: "At around 10.55pm on Thursday, police were called to a report of a man having been seriously injured during an altercation in the Trongate area of Glasgow.

"Emergency services attended and a 31-year-old man was taken to the Glasgow Royal Infirmary for treatment to a head injury."
