A man has been arrested after the burial place of Robert Burns was vandalised.
The mausoleum in St Michael's churchyard in Dumfries was daubed in paint following the attack, which happened at 1.45am on Monday.
Gravestones, church doors and the mausoleum were covered in graffiti.
A man has been arrested in connection with the incident.
A Police Scotland spokesman said: "A report will be sent to the procuratot fiscal.
"Officers from Dumfries community policing unit would like to thank the public for their response in relation to this incident."
