Pupils learn to stop internet hackers at new cyber centre
Kyle Academy pupils will use the skills they learn to teach others about cyber security.
Pupils are learning about protecting data and stopping potential hackers at a new internet security centre in Ayrshire.
The Cyber Centurions Centre has now opened at Kyle Academy.
The project funded by the Prince's Trust and Developing Young Workforce Ayrshire (DYW) aims to prepare the pupils for a career in the computing industry.
Kyle Academy pupils will use the skills they learn to teach others about cyber security.
Connor McCallum, 15, commented: "I am looking to get into IT so this is a good opportunity. I am learning a lot and making new friends which I am enjoying too."
James Marr, 15, said:" I will be going out to primary schools to talk about cyber security. It's really exciting to know that we will be helping to keep young people safe online."
Ayr Academy, Queen Margaret Academy, Marr College and Belmont Academy are due to have initiatives in place over the next few months.
