Police warn car owners to be vigilant as theft rate rises
Officers have noted an increase in thefts from inside cars in East Ayrshire.
Ayrshire car owners are urged to be more careful when it comes to vehicles security.
This follows a rise items have been stolen from inside cars in East Ayrshire.
Police are advising car should be locked when unattended and valuable items should not be left on display.
Safer Communities Officer PC Marshall said: "We have seen a slight increase in incidents over recent weeks where items have been stolen from inside motor vehicles in East Ayrshire."
"We would also advise against parking in isolated or remote areas and whenever possible, parking in busy, well-lit areas which are covered by CCTV."
Officers are urging the public to tell them if they notice anything suspicious.
