Aspiring TV reporters to join intensive summer school
UWS has launched a new one-week summer school at its Ayr campus.
Aspiring TV journalists can gain hands-on experience in front of and behind the camera through a new intensive course in Ayr.
The University of the West of Scotland (UWS) has launched a new summer school at its Ayr campus with workshops, lectures and the chance to learn from industry professionals.
The university says the one-week course starting on Monday, July 31, is suitable for teenagers or those considering a career change.
Journalism lecturer at UWS, James Mahon said: "We live in a time where everyone can communicate and there are so many different ways to communicate.
"Often the channel and means to do that are being lost and this course is giving folks of all ages, from 14 well into adulthood and professionals from all walks of life, the opportunity to learn how to communicate, how to story tell, how to do balanced journalism, look at mobile video journalism and improve, adapt and hone their skills moving forward."
