The body of a woman has been found in a flat.

Officers were called to a property on Elphin Street in the Summerston area of Glasgow on Thursday.

A 39-year-old woman was found dead within a flat following the alert at 8.20am.

The death is being treated as unexplained but is not thought to be suspicious.

A Police Scotland spokeswoman said: "A post-mortem will now be carried out."
