A pensioner with dementia who went missing from his home in East Renfrewshire has been found safe and well.

Shing Cheung, 87, was reported missing after he disappeared from his home in Brent Gardens, Thornliebank on Thursday morning.

Police grew concerned for his welfare as Mr Cheung has dementia.

On Thursday night, police announced that he had been found safe and well.

Officers thanked the public for their help in the search.
