Firefighters are in attendance after a blaze ripped through a derelict primary school building in Glasgow and destroyed its roof.

Three fire engines were sent to the scene at the former Greenview Primary School building in Kippen Street, in the Parkhouse area, shortly before 7.45pm.

No one is thought to have been hurt in the fire, but the building is described as "well-alight".

It is understood that the old school building has recently been sold off for housing.

A spokeswoman for the Scottish Fire and Rescue Service said: "We were called to an incident at a derelict school in the Parkhouse area of Glasgow.

"The building is well-alight and our crews are fighting a small blaze. We have three fire engines and an officer in attendance."
