Discovery of woman's body in flat prompts police probe
Karen Young, 47, was found dead in Port Glasgow, Inverclyde, on Friday.
Detectives are appealing for help to piece together the final movements of a woman who was found dead in a flat.
The body of Karen Young, 47, was discovered at the address on Kelburn Terrace in Port Glasgow at around 1.15pm on Friday.
A post-mortem examination was carried out and the death is being treated as unexplained.
Ms Young was last seen by her son at her home address in Kilmacolm, Renfrewshire, around 3.15pm the previous day.
Enquiries are now under way in a bid to uncover the events between that sighting and the finding of her body.
Detective inspector Grant Macleod said: "Officers have managed to establish that a woman, quite possibly Karen, was seen entering the flat in Kelburn Terrace around 8.30am on Friday morning.
"It is absolutely imperative that we account for Karen's movements leading up to her death, which is currently being treated as unexplained, and members of the local community could prove vital in providing answers for her family.
"If you saw Karen at any point between 3.15pm on Thursday and 1,15pm on Friday please get in touch to help us paint a picture of where she had been and who she had spoken to."
