Man attacked while helping woman near subway station
Police are investigating after the assault on Paisley Road West in Glasgow on Saturday.
A man has been attacked while trying to help a woman near a Glasgow subway station.
The assault happened on Paisley Road West, near Cessnock station, at 2.20am on Saturday.
A 35-year-old man suffered head, facial and hand injuries while trying to assist a woman who was in an argument with another man.
He was taken to Queen Elizabeth University Hospital in a stable condition.
Detective constable Mark Hendry said: "A man has gone to a young woman's assistance and has ended up being assaulted himself. It's imperative we trace both these people.
"Although the incident occurred in the early hours of the morning, I am appealing to people who live in that area to contact us with any information they may have regarding the incident or the suspects."
The attacker is described as being white, between 25 to 30, and is said to have very short hair.
He is of a stocky build with a chubby face and was wearing a grey hoodie.
The woman is described as being white, between 17 to 20, and was wearing a black or grey bomber-style jacket. She is said to have long, straight black hair with a long fringe.
Another woman was with the couple but she was not involved in the incident. Officers are carrying out door-to-door enquiries in the area while also checking CCTV.
