The body of a man has been pulled from a river near Paisley.

At around 6.20pm on Saturday, the body of a 41-year-old man was recovered from Black Cart Water near Linwood.

Police say the death is being treated as unexplained but not suspicious.

The man's identity has not yet been released.

A police spokeswoman said: "Inquiries are underway after the body of a man was found at around 6.20 pm on Saturday.

"The 41-year-old man was discovered at the Black Cart Water near a bridge at the A737.

"The death is being treated as unexplained and a post mortem will be carried out to establish the cause of death."
