Man stabbed in attempted murder as he walked through park
The man was attacked in Tollcross Park in Glasgow on Saturday evening.
A man was stabbed on Saturday evening in an attempted murder at a Glasgow park.
Two men, aged 21 and 23, were walking on a footpath in Tollcross Park near the Leisure Centre when the 23-year-old was attacked at around 6.40pm.
The two men exited the park, getting help from a passing motorist.
The man was taken to the Glasgow Royal Infirmary, where his condition is described as serious but stable.
The 21-year-old was uninjured during the incident.
Officers are conducting enquiries and gathering CCTV footage, but ask members of the public in and around Tollcross Park or Wellshot Road at the time of the incident to get in touch.
Detective Sergeant John Semple said: "We need to know exactly what has happened and why and we are still trying to piece together events which led to a man being assaulted.
"We believe the attack took place within Tollcross Park near to Wellshot Road, although both men came out of the park and sought help from a passing motorist.
"If you were in the park or the surrounding area in the early evening last night and saw or heard anything which you think may be related to this attack then please do get in touch with us."
