Wife killed ailing husband after sex abuse accusations
Susanne Wilson, 72, admitted smothering her 70-year-old husband Henry.
A former councillor killed her sick husband of 50 years after believing he wanted her to help him die.
Susanne Wilson smothered 70 year-old Henry with a cushion at their home in Ayr last September.
The retired nurse had been carer for her housebound husband, who suffered from chronic heart disease.
A judge, at the High Court in Glasgow, heard how the 72 year-old had also been struggling to come to terms with sex abuse allegations against Mr Wilson.
In September 2015, Wilson became aware of allegations her husband - a retired shop manager with Butlins - had abused children.
The court heard other people - who had once helped share the "burden" of looking after Mr Wilson - stopped visiting due to the claims, leaving Wilson isolated.
Prosecutors accepted the plea on the basis of her "diminished responsibility" at the time due to the strain she was under.
Judge Lady Rae called for reports before sentencing in July, including an up to date account on Wilson's mental health.
