Thousands of people will march through Glasgow in support of Scottish independence this weekend, it is claimed.

The All Under One Banner (AUOB) procession will travel from Kelvingrove Park to Glasgow Green on Saturday.

Organisers believe 10,000 people will attend the event but only 8500 people have confirmed their attendance online so far.

AUOB considered cancelling the march after the UK's terror threat level was raised to critical following the recent terror attack in Manchester.

Glasgow City Council also encouraged them to ensure security arrangements were adequate.

The march is being held less than a week before the general election on June 8, called by Prime Minister Theresa May in the wake of the UK's vote on Brexit.
