Herd of cows wander on to A8 causing rush hour delays
Traffic was backed up from Eurocentral to the Shawhead junction on Thursday.
A herd of cows that wandered onto the A8 during rush hour caused lengthy delays for commuters.
Traffic was backed up from Eurocentral to the Shawhead junction after the road was shut eastbound on Thursday morning.
The incident began at around 6am and the cows had been guided back into a nearby field by 7.50am.
A Police Scotland spokesman said: "We were called at 6.05am this morning to reports of cows on the road. We attended to help deal with traffic."
Cows caused problems on Scotland's railways on Wednesday after two were struck by trains on major routes.
The line between Aberdeen and Dundee was blocked after a collision near Laurencekirk, while another accident caused disruption to services in Bathgate, East Lothian.
