Three men injured after explosion in shed near house
Emergency services were called to the blast on Wilson Street, Airdrie, on Sunday.
Three men have been injured in an explosion near a house in North Lanarkshire.
Concerned members of the public alerted the emergency services following the blast on Wilson Street in Airdrie.
The explosion is understood to have happened in a shed at 8pm on Sunday,
The three men were taken to Monklands Hospital, where the extent of their injuries are not yet known.
A statement from Police Scotland said: "At around 8pm on Sunday, police received a number of calls reporting an explosion in Wilson Street, Airdrie.
"Emergency services attended and three men were taken to hospital for treatment.
"Enquiries are ongoing to establish the circumstances of the incident.
"This is an ongoing divisional investigation and unrelated to events elsewhere."
A Police Scotland spokeswoman added: "We don't think it was a commercial property.
"It looks like it possibly happened in a garden shed or something. It was an explosion."
