Man found badly hurt could have been hit-and-run victim
The 45-year-old was found injured in Saltcoats, North Ayrshire, on Saturday night.
A man found seriously injured on a street could have been the victim of a hit-and-run attack.
The 45-year-old was found behind premises between Countess Street and Nineyard Street in Saltcoats, North Ayrshire, at about 9.45pm on Saturday.
The man suffered a serious head injury and was taken to Crosshouse Hospital in Kilmarnock.
Detective Inspector William McDicken said he may have been struck by a vehicle on Nineyard Street.
He said: "Officers have been carrying out inquiries in the local area and are gathering CCTV footage to gather more information on whoever is responsible for this attack.
"At this time, I would urge any witnesses to the incident, or anyone who has any information that may assist our investigation to contact Saltcoats police office through 101."
