Two men have died following a light aircraft crash off the coast of Scotland.
Their plane went down two miles off the coast of Skipness, between the Mull of Kintyre and Arran, at around 3.45pm on Thursday.
The alarm was raised after the Piper PA-28, which took off from Oban Airport at 11.30am, failed to arrive at Carlisle Airport.
A major search was launched and wreckage was discovered on Thursday night.
On Friday, police confirmed the bodies of two men had been found in the sea near Skipness.
They have not been identified and post-mortem examinations will be carried out.
A Police Scotland spokesman said: "We are investigating to establish the full circumstances surrounding the crash.
"The bodies of two men and some wreckage from the aircraft were recovered in the sea near to Skipness.
"The Air Accidents Investigation Branch is conducting an independent safety investigation."
Three coastguard rescue teams, a the Prestwick helicopter and three RNLI lifeboat teams were involved in the search for the aircraft, which ended just before 8pm on Thursday.
