A lucky Celtic fan has added to an already dream season after winning more than £20,000 by picking horses with initials spelling out the club's name.

The gambler won big on a six-horse accumulator for races taking place at Naas, Limerick, Market Rasen and Stretford on the same day Celtic finalised their unbeaten season with a home win against Hearts.

The six winning horses' names were Caravaggio, Emerald Rose, Listen Dear, Too Many Diamonds, Idliketheoption and finally Clondaw Draft, who won the day's final race at Stretford by nine lengths.

The winning horses scooped the lucky punter from Antrim in Northern Ireland £21,555 from a £50 stake on the same day his favourite team were awarded the SPFL Premiership trophy.

The man has asked to remain anonymous but bookmaker Paddy Power confirmed the huge win calling it an "unusual way of picking a selection".

It said: "A monster pay day, maybe a few trips to Celtic Park next season and a place in Paddy Power's Punting Hall of Fame awaits.

"It would appear that Celtic are as unbeatable on a betting slip as they are on the pitch and we are delighted to be able to fund the well-deserved double celebrations."

The winning punter will be hoping his winning streak runs into Saturday when Brendan Rodgers men take on Aberdeen in the Scottish cup final at Hampden with a chance to clinch their first treble in 16 years.
