Michelle Gomez, 50, is a Glasgow-born actress who currently plays Missy, the female incarnation of The Master, on the tenth season of BBC's Doctor Who.

She announced her decision to leave the show last week.

Before Doctor Who, she was most famous for her comedy roles in Green Wing, The Book Group and Bad Education.

She recently starred in Gotham as The Lady, a ringleader of a group of assassins responsible for the death of Bruce Wayne's parents.

Michelle is married to Pirates of the Caribbean actor Jack Davenport and has one child.
