A man wanted by police for "some time" after being charged with a robbery in Blackpool is believed to have travelled to Scotland.

Edwin Reid, 20, from Buchanan Street, Blackpool, was charged with robbing a 23-year-old man in October 2015 but failed to appear at Preston Crown Court for his trial the following April.

Now detectives looking for Reid believe he could be hiding out in Glasgow, where the last sighting of him was recorded.

A 23-year-old man was allegedly robbed at the Strand hotel in the town.

The suspect is described as white, 5ft 5in, of slim build and with brown hair.

Police are appealing for information and have urged anyone who can assist with their enquiries to come forward.

Detective Jennie Speight, of Blackpool Police, said: "Reid has been wanted for some time now in connection with a robbery in Blackpool.

"Our enquiries suggest he is likely to be in the Scotland area, possibly Glasgow.

"If you have seen him or know where he is, please call police immediately."

Anyone with information can contact police on 101 or alternatively Crimestoppers can be contacted anonymously on 0800 555 111.
