A pensioner with dementia who went missing three days ago has now been found.

Charles O'Neill, 69, left his home in Knightswood, Glasgow, at around noon on Tuesday.

He was sighted on Wednesday near to the Shell Garage of the A82 at Drumchapel where he was walking westbound.

A massive search was launched in Drumchapel, Clydebank and Dumbarton to trace Mr O'Neill, supported by a police helicopter.

He had gone missing before but never for such a long period of time.

A spokeswoman for Police Scotland said: "We can confirm that Charles O'Neill has been found.

"He is safe and well and his family have been made aware."
