Driver's 'lucky escape' after brick shatters train window
Train targeted between Jordanhill and Scotstounhill stations in west end of Glasgow.
A driver was left covered in glass after a brick was hurled at a train as it travelled through Glasgow's west end.
The incident happened on May 3 shortly before 9.30am on the line between Jordanhill and Scotstounhill station.
The 8.13am Cumbernauld to Dalmuir service was travelling at speed when the brick smashed the window of the train.
Police said the driver had a "lucky escape" and could have suffered serious injuries in the incident.
PC Colin Campbell, of Police Scotland, said: "It is difficult to comprehend why someone thought it would be a good idea to throw a brick at a fast moving train.
"The reckless stupidity of the person who did this is extremely concerning, that is why we are looking to trace them.
"This was a very lucky escape for the driver who could have been seriously injured.
"I am very keen to speak with any witnesses who were in the area at the time and could help us investigate.
"I am aware there is a pathway which runs parallel to this stretch of the line which is commonly used by dog walkers.
"I would like to appeal directly to dog walkers and ask them to get in touch if they saw anything suspicious last Wednesday morning."
