A car has smashed into a rail bridge in Glasgow.

Several train services have been cancelled after the vehicle collided with the structure in Kennishead on Thursday afternoon.

Emergency services were called to the incident in Boydstone Road.

The railway line was closed, with Barrhead, Girvan, Kilmarnock, Newcastle and Carlisle services all affected.

Disruption is expected to last until 4pm.

Engineers have also been called to examine the safety of the bridge.
