Man in serious condition after being mowed down by van

A man is in a serious condition after being mowed down by a van on a busy Glasgow road.
The 53-year-old was struck by a Ford Transit Connect van on Springburn Road, close to its junction with Keppochhill Road, at about 1.25pm on Tuesday.
Emergency services attended the scene and closed the road before taking him to the Queen Elizabeth University Hospital, where he remains in a serious condition.
The 27-year-old driver of the van was uninjured and the road reopened at about 5pm.
Police Scotland officers are now appealing for any information relating to the incident.
Sergeant Mark McGowan said: "At this time our investigation into the crash is continuing. I would urge anyone who witnessed the crash or who has information that may assist our enquiries to contact us through 101."
