Two teenagers accused of killing woman in 'hit-and-run' crash
Logan Knox and John Gribben are charged with causing the death of Joan Price by dangerous driving.
Two teenagers have appeared in court charged with killing a woman in an alleged hit-and-run smash.
Joan Price was pronounced dead at the scene after the crash on the A77 near the Holmston Road Roundabout in Ayr at around 9.35pm on Monday.
The 59-year-old from Troon had been travelling home in her red Nissan Pulsar car when a black Volkswagen Golf collided with it.
A 39-year-old woman, who was a passenger in Ms Price's car, was also seriously injured in the crash.
On Wednesday, at Ayr Sheriff Court, two teenagers were charged with causing the 59-year-old's death.
Logan Knox, 19, of Girvan, was charged with causing death by dangerous driving, attempting to pervert the course of justice and driving while disqualified from the road.
He was also charged with failing to identify a driver to the police.
John Gribben, 18, of Ayr, was charged with causing death by dangerous driving and attempting to pervert the course of justice.
Both made no plea or declaration.
Knox was remanded in custody and Gribben was released on bail.
A 17-year-old man has also been arrested in connection with the incident.
