A 33-year-old man was left fighting for his life after suffering a stab wound in Paisley.
A suspect has been arrested over a knife murder bid on a night out.
Police said a 33-year-old man was left fighting for his life in hospital on Saturday after suffering a stab wound in Paisley, Renfrewshire.
Officers said he had returned to his friend's flat in Argyle Street in the early hours of Saturday following a night out in the area.
He was taken to Royal Alexandra Hospital for treatment to the stab wound and for a head injury. Medical staff described his injuries as life-threatening.
A man is due at Paisley Sheriff Court on Tuesday over the attempted murder.
A statement from Police Scotland said: "A 29-year-old man has been arrested and detained in police custody in connection with the incident."
