The death of a woman found at her home in the north of Glasgow is not believed to be suspicious.

The 36-year-old was discovered dead in the property on Glenfinnan Road in Maryhill on Wednesday afternoon.

Police found the body at around 3pm and a major investigation was launched as officers examined the scene.

However, police say they now believe there are no suspicious circumstances surrounding the death of the young woman.

A Police Scotland spokeswoman added: "Around 3.05pm on Wednesday, January 4, the body of a 36-year-old woman was found within a house in Glenfinnan Road, Maryhill.

"A post-mortem examination will take place in in due course to establish the full circumstances of what happened.

"A report will be sent to the procurator fiscal."
