Elderly driver reverses through hedge and mounts parked car
The woman had to be rescued from her vehicle after the mishap at a car park in Dumbarton.
Emergency services were called to a car park in West Dunbartonshire after an elderly woman accidentally parked her car on top of another vehicle.
The incident happened shortly before 4pm on Monday at Riverside Lane in Dumbarton's quay area.
Eyewitnesses said the pensioner's vehicle reversed back at high speed before ploughing through a hedge and mounting a stationary silver vehicle that was parked behind her.
Pictures captured by passers-by show paramedics talking to the pensioner, believed to be in her eighties, moments after she was rescued from her vehicle.
Witness Alan Hutchison posted on Facebook: "Woman reversed what looks like about 30 mph went through the hedge and onto the other car."
Police said no one was hurt in the crash.
A Police Scotland spokeswoman said: "At around 3.50pm on Monday, 19 December, police responded to a report of a two-vehicle road traffic accident on Riverside Lane, Dumbarton.
"No one was injured as a result of the incident and no criminality was established."
