Search for men after house set alight during 'targeted attack'
The pair are believed to have climbed fencing to get into the garden of the property.
Police are investigating after a house was set on fire during a "targeted attack" in Airdrie, North Lanarkshire.
Officers said the occupants of the house, on North Biggar Road, heard a loud noise at around 8.35pm on Sunday.
They discovered a fire had been set and emergency services were called out.
The incident is being treated as wilful fire-raising and anyone with information has been asked to come forward.
Detective sergeant Cameron Miller from Coatbridge CID said: "We believe this was a targeted attack and it is critical that we trace those responsible as quickly as possible.
"From our enquiries so far, we understand that two men climbed fencing to get into the garden of the property and I would appeal to anyone living nearby who may have seen them to come forward.
"I would also ask anyone in the surrounding area who noticed two men acting suspiciously around the time of the incident to get in touch.
"Anyone with information can contact officers via 101 or alternatively you can call Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111 where details can be given in confidence."
