A suspected gang of pickpockets stole a haul of mobile phones at a Korn and Limp Bizkit gig.

Police are investigating after receiving a number of reports from revellers at the concert at the SSE Hydro on Wednesday night.

Officers received six reports of stolen phones but it is believed several more cases were reported to organisers.

Members of the public have been warned to remain vigilant when out or at concerts over the festive season.

STV News understands a gang using distraction techniques were behind the thefts.

A spokeswoman for Police Scotland said: "We have received reports of six mobile phones being stolen at the Korn and Limp Bizkit concert at the SSE Hydro in Glasgow on Wednesday night.

"Inquiries are ongoing to establish the circumstances surrounding these incidents.

"We would like to remind people to stay vigilant when they are out over the festive period and when incidents of this type commonly increase."

She added: "If anyone has any information regarding this incident or the identity of those involved they should telephone Police Scotland on 101.

"Alternatively you can call Crimestoppers on 0800 555111 if they wish to remain anonymous."

On Monday night, a man was caught with dozens of stolen mobile phones stuffed down a pair of tights after the two bands played in Manchester.

He was held after officers caught him at the Manchester Evening Neews arena with a haul of stolen devices.
