Worker arrested after 'smashing up Burger King with hammer'
He is understood to have smashed TV menu screens at the fast food branch in Ayr.
A Burger King employee has been arrested after he allegedly smashed up a branch of the fast food chain with a hammer.
The Burger King on Ayr's High Street was closed after the incident on Monday morning but has since reopened.
It is understood the worker smashed menu screens above the counter after walking in to the premises to quit his job.
Police were called to the restaurant and arrested a 24-year-old man.
A police spokesman said: "At 9.15am on Monday 28 November, police received a report of a disturbance at the Burger King on the High Street, Ayr, whereby the store was alleged to have been vandalised.
"A 24-year-old man was arrested in connection with the incident and a report will be sent to the procurator fiscal."
