Driver attacked in McDonald's car park after refusing man lift
A man assaulted a teenager and smashed his car window at the restaurant in Dumfries.
A teenage driver was attacked in a McDonald's car park after he refused to give a man a lift in his car.
The 17-year-old victim was sitting in his car with friends at the McDonald's restaurant in Lochside, Dumfries, at around 11.55pm on Saturday when he was approached by a man who asked for a lift.
The teenager declined and the man proceeded to assault him before smashing the window of his silver Peugeot 106.
The attacker was last see walking towards Cuckoobridge.
Police are now appealing for witnesses after the "unprovoked" attack at the weekend.
The suspect is described as white, in his late 20s/early 30s, about 6ft, of big build, with short dark hair which was spiked up. He spoke with a local accent.
He was wearing a dark body warmer over a black sports type jacket which had green stripes on the sleeves.
Constable Luke Leslie at Dumfries said: "This appears to be a totally unprovoked attack on this 17-year-old lad who was sitting in his car with some friends minding his own business.
"Anyone who can help identify the attacker is asked to call us at Dumfries on 101."
