A man has been arrested after two mourners were injured in a fight at a family funeral.

Police were called to the scene at Daldowie Crematorium in Uddingston, South Lanarkshire, at around lunch time on Thursday.

The disturbance happened in the car park at around 12.30pm and involved mourners at a family funeral. The two men were taken to hospital with serious facial injuries.

Police confirmed on Saturday that a 56-year-old man has been detained in connection with the disturbance.

He is expected to appear at Glasgow Sheriff Court on Monday

A statement from Police Scotland said: "A 56 year old man has been arrested and is presently detained in police custody in connection with the incident.

"A report will be submitted to the procurator fiscal."
