Driver 'knocked down police officer after being pulled over'
Nathan Padden has been charged with endangering the life of the officer in Cambuslang.
A police officer was taken to hospital after allegedly being struck by a car which they had pulled over in the street.
A man has now been charged with endangering the life of the officer in Cambuslang, South Lanarkshire, on Wednesday evening.
Nathan Sean Padden, 26, has been charged with assault to injury and danger of life after the incident on Hollybank Place at around 5.55pm.
He has also been charged under the Misuse of Drugs Act in relation to obstructing a search.
Padden is alleged to have injured the officer when he drove off after being stopped.
The officer was taken to hospital and has now been released after treatment.
Padden appeared at Glasgow Sheriff Court on Thursday to face the charges and was remanded in custody. He made no plea or declaration and is due at court again next week.
A spokeswoman for Police Scotland said: "Around 5.55pm on Wednesday officers stopped a car on Hollybank Place in Cambuslang.
"The car then drove off from the scene injuring one officer in the process. The officer received treatment and was later released from hospital.
"A 26-year-old man was arrested and detained in connection with the incident."
