Man's 'violent death' at home sparks murder investigation
Joseph McMenemy, 27, was found seriously injured at his home in Hamilton on Tuesday night.
Police have launched a murder inquiry into the "violent death" of a man in South Lanarkshire.
Joseph McMenemy was found seriously injured at his home in Donaldson Street, Hamilton, at around 11.55pm on Tuesday.
Emergency services rushed to the scene but the 27-year-old was pronounced dead at the scene.
Following a post-mortem, police are now treating his death as murder.
Detective inspector Rory Hamilton has appealed for witnesses to get in touch.
He said: "A man has died a violent death and it is absolutely critical that we get to the bottom of who is responsible.
"Extensive enquiries are under way to establish the circumstances of this incident but we need support from the local community to find answers for Joseph McMenemy's family.
"If you were in the surrounding area late on Tuesday evening and saw or heard anything suspicious we would like to hear from you.
"I am confident that somebody must know something about who is involved and I would appeal to anyone with information to come forward and speak to us as a matter of urgency.
