Two men have been slashed after a brawl broke out in the car park of a crematorium.

Police were called to the scene at Daldowie Crematorium in Uddingston, South Lanarkshire, at around lunch time on Thursday.

The disturbance happened in the car park at around 12.30pm and involved mourners at a family funeral.

The two men were taken to hospital with serious facial injuries. Officers have launched an investigation and appealed for any witnesses to come forward.

Detective inspector David Stewart from Shettleston CID said: "Enquiries are at an early stage to establish the exact circumstances surrounding this incident.

A Glasgow City Council spokeswoman said: "We can confirm an incident took place in the car park at Daldowie Crematorium and are helping police with their enquiries.

"Arrangements are in place to ensure services continue and with minimum disruption."
