
Armed police called after 'knife-wielding man ran at officers'
A man is in custody after allegedly confronting officers with blade near Clydebank Police Station.
A man has been detained after allegedly confronting officers with a knife near a police station in West Dunbartonshire.
The man was detained after police were called to a disturbance on Montrose Street, Clydebank, at around 8.30pm on Wednesday.
Armed officers were scrambled to the incident but the man had been disarmed before they arrived at the scene.
A Police Scotland spokesman said: "About 8.30 pm on Wednesday 16 November 2016, a report was received of a disturbance at a property on Montrose Street, Clydebank.
"Local officers attended and were confronted by a man in possession of a knife.
"Armed officers were dispatched to assist, however prior to their arrival the man was detained and is now in police custody."
No one one is thought to have been injured.
