An amateur rugby player has been jailed for life for raping two women, one of them from when she was ten.
Jamie Rudling, 28, of Dunoon, Argyll, was told he may never be freed from prison having been found guilty of targeting his victims over a nine-year period.
Rudling was given three years' probation in 2010 after being convicted of attempted rape.
Last year, he was convicted of raping a woman while he was out on supervision for grooming two 14-year-old girls online.
He was also found guilty of repeatedly raping another young woman over a nine-year period beginning when she was ten.
At Glasgow High Court on Wednesday, Rudling was placed on a lifelong restriction order and sentenced to three years and six months in prison.
Lady Carmichael told him: "You present a high risk to the public at large if you are at liberty. You were sexually offending while on an extended sentence which was intended to protect the public."
She told Rudling he showed a pattern of sexual offending from his teenage years.
Lady Carmichael said: "It is significant that your pattern of serious sexual offending became as excessive as it did over a significant period.
"I am imposing a lifelong restriction order. It is possible you many never be released. It will be up to the parole board to decide if he is ever released"
Rudling was given three years' probation in March 2010 after being convicted of attempting to rape a sleeping woman.
He was also jailed for 28 months at Ayr Sheriff Court in November 2011 and placed under supervision for two years after contacting two teenage girls online.
